Self-defense does not require that you have been trained by an expert. You must also be able to defend yourself alone. You should learn some basic moves to protect yourself from an attack.

Start with simple moves such as punching, kicks, and kneeing. Then you can add more advanced moves like grappling and joint locks.

It is always useful to practice something that is similar to what you might face in real-life situations. For example, if you want to learn how to kick someone, then you should practice on something soft like a pillow.

By doing this, you will not injure yourself while practicing. Be careful not to strike anything too hard as you could cause damage.

How To

How to Survive a Home Invasion

Home invasion is scary, especially for children. We didn't expect to live through home invasion when we started our journey with installing a home security system. Here are the lessons we have learned thus far.

  1. Do not let your children see the attackers. Two men broke into the house while our children were sleeping upstairs. They were taken downstairs by us until police arrived. They didn't harm our kids, but it was enough to traumatize them.
  2. Lock Up All Valuables. All valuables are kept in a safe in the bedroom. Even if someone is able to break into the house they won't have access.
  3. Keep an eye out for burglars. We live in a neighborhood that has a lot of burglaries. We are always on the lookout for suspicious cars and people.
  4. Make sure you have a backup plan. If something happens, our family will be taken over financially. We have also made a plan to leave this country, if needed.
  5. Be Prepared. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you must defend your life, you must be prepared. Make sure you have food, water, and other supplies ready.
  6. Get help immediately by calling 911. If you find out that someone has broken into your home, call 911 immediately. It is better than waiting for authorities to knock on your door.
  7. Use common sense. Don't let anyone inside who doesn't belong there. Do not invite strangers.
  8. Ask for help from your neighbors or other people in the area. If you feel unsafe, contact your friends and neighbors. You can have them watch your back while calling the police.
  9. Be calm and follow the instructions of police officers. Stay calm and do exactly as instructed by officers. Don't run away or resist arrest.
  10. Take pictures of any evidence. Photograph any evidence that is found during an investigation. You can take pictures of fingerprints, blood samples, or other evidence.
  11. Local Law Enforcement can be contacted to file a report. Even if you are not the victim, it is a good idea to file a report with local law enforcement. This could help prevent you from being convicted of future crimes.
  12. Contact the Insurance Company Immediately. Your insurance company should be contacted immediately. Tell them everything that happened and ask for an adjuster to come out to assess the damage.
  13. Take away personal belongings. You should get rid of all personal belongings. If you're wearing expensive jewelry, take it off and put it somewhere safe.
  14. Clean Up After Yourself. Take care of yourself. Throw away the trash, sweep up broken glass, and make sure all doors and windows are locked.
  15. Don't talk about the events. Don't talk about anyone's past. You never know who might attempt to use this information against later.
